Requirements for certification
The National Sustainability Certification System has several mandatory requirements for supply chain operators:
🌱 Sustainability of raw materials
Raw materials must be sourced and produced in non-risk areas (e.g., primary forests, high carbon stock areas, peatlands), meeting precise environmental and social criteria. It is mandatory to assess the ILUC risk (indirect land use change).
🔄 Traceability system and mass balance
Operators must ensure the traceability throughout the supply chain and adopt a system of mass balance, ensuring consistency between physical and accounting material flows.
♻️ Reducing greenhouse gas emissions
Products must ensure a minimum reduction in CO₂ emissions compared to fossil fuels, in accordance with the thresholds stipulated in the decree.
🏭 Certification of the entire supply chain
All actors involved (farmers, processors, transporters, traders, production facilities) must be certified by an Accredited Certification Body and notified.
📋 Periodic checks and inspections
Certified operators undergo regular audits by the Certification Body and reviews by the National System Technical Committee..
